Have you noticed the numerous magazines devoted to remodeling while you are in the checkout line in the grocery store? Most of these magazines focus on kitchens. With so many options out there, trying to decide on what make or style of kitchen cabinets you want can be a little daunting.
If you are considering a kitchen remodel, but want to do it on a reduced budget, you may have considered re-facing rather than replacing your cabinets. Before going forward with re-facing, you should at least meet with someone at a kitchen cabinet supplier. Most suppliers will have several styles by several makers on their showroom floor. The best part about being able to view the cabinets is to see all of the conveniences that come with new cabinets. Spice rack pull outs, lazy susans, wine racks and other accessories that make life a little easier are a big part of what make new cabinets attractive. Once you have met with a kitchen designer and/or cabinet supplier you may find that all new cabinets will not break your budget. We have all heard horror stories of the kitchen remodel that dragged on forever, but if you do your research and find a company with a stellar reputation, you can avoid the pitfalls of a nightmare remodel.
The other thing you should consider when deciding how much to spend is the return on your investment. Most families now spend most of their time in and around the kitchen, so they want it to be a pleasurable space. You will get more enjoyment out of an updated kitchen as will a buyer if you then decide to sell.
