You’ve painted the walls and hung the wallpaper, but it just doesn’t look right. Perhaps it needs the warmth of wood molding. There are a variety of molding shapes and materials to meet your wildest expectations. Wood molding demonstrates your sense of decorating, and can provide soothing thoughts at the end of the day with a relaxing atmosphere.
Door trim and Window moldings can make a unique statement. Crown molding can soften the transition from wall to ceiling. A chair rail can provide an eye catching focal point and also protect the walls from damage. Beautiful handrails on the stairways provide security. Baseboards and Base shoes conceal imperfections of the floor to wall transitions. Wainscoting with cap adds a whole new dimension to a room. Wood can also withstand the heat of the area surrounding a fireplace.
Wood choices may include exotic woods such as Teak, Bamboo, or Rose Wood. These can accentuate the desired ambiance of your home. You should experiment with different colors of stains, paints, and/or finishes to obtain that perfect look that you desire. These enhance the different wood grains, but you can also leave the wood a natural color for the look of simplicity.
Once completed, you have created your own masterpiece, increasing the value of your home. Was your design antique décor, rustic, or traditional? Potential buyers will be intrigued by your decorating sense. Wood can show strength of character, boldness and endurance while being soft, subtle, and pleasing to the eye. Your design signature is set for all to enjoy.
