Importance of Trim in Your Home

One of the most important decisions you can make about your new home is the type of trim you will use around the doors and windows. The type and style of the trim you choose helps to define the style and character of your home. Trim helps to tie all the architectural elements of the house together. In general, the same trim that is used on the doorways is also used around the windows. An exception to this would be around entry doors or large openings, such as an opening into a dinning area. These areas would have more elaborate trim around them because they are the areas that your guests will see first. This will set the mood of the home from the start.

The trim can be a plain traditional style or fluted. Fluted detail can add an upscale, classic look to your interior. The corner blocks can be plain or they can have rosettes, leaves, or other detail on them.
