Adding Trim for Inside Woodwork

Many projects done inside the home have options for trim. There is trim for the cabinets, tables, chairs, and molding. What type you choose depends on the decor of your home and whether you want it to match a single trim design or if you want to have separate designs for the trim in each room.
One of the least expensive trims is made by Koetler and is sold in the local lumber yard. The reason this trim is less expensive is because it is bought in quantity and sold the same way. It is most widely used and has fewer design wood types.
The more unique woodwork and unusual wood species can be quite expensive because the amount designed and distributed is far less than the out of the lumber yard over the counter trim. This type of wood usually has a limit to the amount of woodwork trim produced and distributed each year.
If the question is adding woodwork to aid in the selling of your home then the trim is the best place to start. Trim around the windows, floors, kitchen cabinets and flooring, bathrooms and many such places can add value as well as looks. This trim can be replaced at a relatively low cost or it can be refinished.
Remove the old varnish or stain with a paint thinner or stain remover and rag. A steel brush might have to be used to remove some old paint. Once the old is removed, sand and re-stain the trim. The nail holes are already in place so it makes replacing the trim easy. The newly refurbished trim will add great looks and probably a better value to your home.
