Trim Around Windows and Doors

Wood trim can be used around your windows and doors to add beauty. It also adds value to your home. Trim can be used anywhere in your home that you want to frame or decorate. There are many styles to choose from when buying trim. You can also choose from different types of wood such as pine, cedar, oak, cherry, or maple.

You might want to experiment with staining, painting or leaving your trim bare for a simpler look. You might even want to try using different woods and making them into a pattern or use molding in different areas to create a unique pattern. There are numerous color tinted wood stains that are available. Mixing a tinted stain with another clear stain or with another tinted stain makes these different hues. The colors you create can be a one of a kind that no one else would think of. Make sure you try it on a small piece of wood or trim before you do all of your trim to make sure that you are going to like it.

You might even want to make your own molding by ripping boards to about one inch. Then trim around windows and doors for a one of a kind look. To add more uniqueness, add a board across the middle of the window with pegs across the board for a more country look. Your house will have a new look and feel while adding value to your house in a fun and visual way.
