Thinking of giving your humble abode a face lift, perhaps a rebuilt or upgraded kitchen? Take a few moments to reflect on your interests, likes and dislikes are. What is the function of the room? Do you need an open area to enhance entertaining? Do you have a color preference? Contacting a person that can help you can always be beneficial, especially before a contractor starts demolition.
Look at the whole area to determine your needs and wants. Are you going to match existing wood tone, wall colors, cabinet designs? After you have a functional design in place, a cabinet store is a great place to start, looking at the vast array of color, design and operational functions. Most commercially made cabinets come in width dimensions in 2-3 inch increments. Filler panels may be used to fill in gaps that could exist if the layout does not match the required area. A contractor may be able to fabricate custom cabinets that would be more beneficial to your application. Bookshelves and cabinets can be “built in” to any preferred area.
Would you like to have hardwood floors? Do you want the color to match or compliment existing or new cabinets or trim? Matching colors to existing woodwork is very difficult because woods vary so much. Complimenting types of woods and colors can create a whole new and unique dimension to your living area.
Once your project is finished, the warmth and satisfaction that the area meets your personality is most gratifying and will provide you with years of pride and contentment.
