Accenting With Woodwork Design

For anyone wanting to upgrade their home from ordinary to extraordinary, different forms of woodwork design may be just the answer. Even for those on a limited budget, there are several ways you can incorporate woodwork ideas into your decor and home design. Most homes in the past 10 to 15 years tend to have the open, more contemporary look, which does not consist of much woodwork at all. Tthe woodwork that is around the doors tends to be painted the same color as the walls and door, so it basically doesn’t show at all.

You can easily upgrade your home by opening a wall in most any room and creating a built-in bookcase. These are even nice in a bathroom where you can display a lot of little things neat, or even showcased, rather than always a clutter. The bookcase idea also works great in the kitchen to be used for recipe books, canister sets, or even as a spice rack.

Your den, living room, or dining room can come alive by adding a chair rail, or woodwork around the windows. If you have a fireplace, woodwork designs are a great enhancement for a mantle or built-in wood box on the side. Sometimes you will find that just adding wood shelves and fancy brackets to the wall will change the entire look of your room.

You can find a wide variety of styles for moldings and shelves, multiple sizes, different corner pieces, and shelf brackets that can turn your room or home into a very expensive look. The best part is that you can do it all yourself for a lot less money and just a bit of imagination!
